NHA After School Programs

Here is how a typical week will look:

• School bus drops your child off at NHA around 3:45pm
• 3:50-4:50 will be spent on the court, with an average week looking like:
  • Monday – basketball (training, drills, scrimmaging)
  • Tuesday – FUNdamentals Athletic Development (focus on motor skills – running, jumping, throwing, catching, twisting, kicking, etc!)
  • Wednesday – soccer (training, drills, scrimmaging)
  • Thursday – Speed, Power, & Agility training (sprints, band exercises, lunges, squats, etc… all with a competitive twist and a focus on fun)
  • Fridays – free play (a little bit of everything)
• 4:50 – 5:30 will be spent in the event room for a cool down, wait for parent pickup
  • TV
  • Board games (jenga, chess/checkers, etc)
  • Lego, magna tiles, etc.
  • Snack – ex. granola bar & fruit

Cost: $16.75 per day + HST

To set up simply call the bus consortium to let them know you would like your child dropped off at NHA.

Age/Grades:

We will be accepting kids in grades SK-4.  Co-ed.

Days Per Week:

At least initially we will expect kids to commit to 5 days per week.  Exceptions will only be made if you bring us a similar alternative arrangement (example, your child would like to come 3 days per week and you have another family whose (similar aged) child would like to come the other 2 days each week).  With only 26 spots available we anticipate filling quickly.  If you would like to only attend for a few days per week we can add you to a waitlist in case we have room.

PA Days/School Holidays:

During PA Days we will be running PA Day Camps for anyone to sign up.  Camps will have a ‘multi-sport’ theme but have a primary focus on hockey (2 hours per day on ice).  Regular price for these camps is $125 per day, however members of our after school LTAD program will be able to sign up for $100.

We do run an Easter Monday Camp, March Break Camp, and Christmas Holiday Camp.  Similar pricing & special discounts for LTAD members can apply.  We typically do not run camps on statutory holidays (Thanksgiving, Good Friday, Boxing Day, etc.).

Late Pickups:

Pickups will be expected by no later than 5:30pm.  Additional fees for late pickup would be as follows:

• 5:30 – 5:45 – $25
• 5:45 – 6:00 – $50

Payment:

Invoices will be generated monthly on your DaySmart account.   Payments can be done by cheque, cash, e-transfer, in person by debit, or online or in person by credit card.

Deposit:

A non-refundable deposit of $100 will be collected upon initial registration.  This amount will go towards annual insurance and administrative fees for the program.

Absent Days / Pickup:

Parents must notify NHA if your child will not be getting off the bus at NHA, by phone (705-522-3132) or by email (info@northernhockeyacademy.ca).  Any authorized individuals for pickup must have a driver’s license photo on file and be prepared to provide said driver’s license if required
