13 Bi-Week Elite Goalie Development: Sep 18th – March 19th

A 13-week goalie clinic can be an excellent opportunity for goaltenders to develop their skills, improve their fitness, and gain valuable experience. Below is a breakdown of the elite goalie development skills program.

Week 1 & 2: Goalie Fundamentals

Introduction to basic goaltending techniques. Focus on stance, positioning, and balance. Skating drills for goalies.

Week 3 & 4: Puck Handling and Rebound Control

Developing puck-handling skills. Learning to control rebounds and direct them away from the danger areas. Working on stickhandling and passing.

Week 5 & 6: Angle and Depth Management

Understanding angles and depth management to cut down angles effectively. Incorporating footwork drills to improve positioning. Fine-tuning lateral movements.

Week 7 & 8: Save Selection and Recovery

Learning when to use various types of saves Recovery techniques for quick follow-up saves. Practice scenarios with rapid shots and rebounds.

Week 9 & 10: Advanced Techniques

Introduction to advanced techniques like poke checks, RVH/VH, and desperation saves. Situational awareness and decision-making under pressure. Reading and reacting to plays.

Week 11 & 12: Game Situations and Strategy

Simulating game situations, including power plays, penalty kills, and odd-man rushes. Understanding offensive and defensive strategies. Communication with defensemen and teammates.

Week 13: Game Simulation and Review

Full-game simulations with real-game scenarios. Video review and analysis of gameplay. Goalie-specific conditioning and fitness drills.

Throughout the 13-week clinic, goaltenders can expect to receive individualized coaching, feedback, and drills tailored to their skill level and needs. Clinics may also incorporate off-ice training, mental conditioning, and nutrition advice to support overall goalie development.

Private Sessions & Semi-Private

Our Goalie Private Lessons offer personalized training and coaching designed to enhance your abilities, boost your confidence, and help you excel in the crease. Whether you’re a beginner striving to master the fundamentals or an experienced goalie aiming to fine-tune your technique, our private lessons cater to all skill levels and ages.

1 Session – $175+HST

5 Sessions – $800+HST

10 Sessions – $1500+HST

Association Clinics

We provide clinic-based training throughout the hockey season for associations on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly basis. During these sessions, we can provide phenomenal instruction to a large audience of goaltenders parents and coaches. All association clinics are tailored to the goalie’s needs. As part of our association clinics, we can also offer a lecture from one of the staff members where they discuss a wide range of topics such as goalie equipment, drills for goalies in practice, and off-ice training for goalies. This is a great way for parents and coaches to improve their overall knowledge about goaltending so that they can apply it to their team

Team Practice Clinics

In addition to our association clinics, we also offer specialized training sessions for individual teams. These practices are designed to focus on the specific needs of your goalies and the overall team dynamics.

Video Analysis

Goaltenders undergo intense training through private lessons, clinics and camps, but there can be a disconnect between all the training and in-game performance. NHA will review, break down and analyze your game so you can easily harness the power of video game analysis that the pros receive.

Game Evaluation

For each game evaluation, an NHA coach will attend your game and provide a thorough performance breakdown and analysis. Game evaluations are an effective way for goaltenders and coaches to fully assess and understand a goaltender’s strengths and weaknesses in order to optimize training sessions.

EACH GAME EVALUATION INCLUDES:

3 periods of analysis
Verbal post-game review
Goaltenders will receive a SELF-EVALUATION FORM
Goal-by-goal breakdown
The post-game report highlights areas of focus
Stats and shot tracking analysis
